Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas showcase everything from affordable street tacos to high-end regional fare. Of course, Sin City’s love of Mexican food doesn’t stop there. They rank among some of the best Las Vegas restaurants.

Whether it’s a carne asada torta, seafood enchiladas or cinnamon-dusted churros, Las Vegas has it covered. Here are nine of the best Mexican food on the Strip.

The kitchen staff members are from different regions, and each one incorporated their favorite dishes to create the eclectic menu at Javier’s. Seafood is a specialty here as evidenced by the large ceviche selection and plates like empanadas de camaron (shrimp empanadas), enchiladas de cangrejo (crab enchiladas) and seasonal fish preparations. The grill is another showcase section of the menu, where diners can choose items like a tomahawk pork chop and steak cuts aplenty.

phone: (702) 632-7403
hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

The Border Grill brand has been around since 1985 when chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken brought their interpretations of traditional Mexican food to Los Angeles in the form of a 40-seat taco stand. It has since become one of the most successful Mexican restaurant brands in the country, and a staple for some of the best Mexican food on the Strip.

Freshly made guacamole, duck carnitas and vegan chile rellenos are just some of the favorites found here. Some might even consider it with other choices as the best breakfast in Las Vegas. A seafood molcajete makes the flavors of the sea sizzle with a fun presentation. While there are plenty of options for any meal here, brunch is the standout, with unlimited mini plates for less than $45.

Mandalay Bay Las Vegas (from USD $79 )

When desert sands aren't enough, escape to Mandalay Bay for all of the hallmarks of a tropical getaway, right on the Las Vegas Strip.

As a bonus, their menu is an authentic take for brunch on the Strip, offering upscale versions of common dishes such as huevos rancheros.

Perhaps the best feature of this Grand Canal Shoppes outpost is the taco truck attached to it. Street Taqueria is the late-night stop for visitors to get their taco fix, including pork carnitas and chicken tinga. Don’t forget the margarita to go.

Leave it to celebrity chef José Andrés to create a mashup Mexican-Chinese restaurant. However, this is not your typical ‘fusion’ restaurant, with blended dishes using multiregional ingredients. Instead, diners can mix and match their Mexican and Chinese selections, respectively. You’ll feel like you belong in a penthouse on the Las Vegas Strip.

Plates like siu mai dumplings can accompany sonequeso fundido, or soup lovers can blend the flavors of East and West, with a wonton soup named “Swallow a Cloud” and caldo Tlalpeno, Mexican chicken soup. For those who can’t choose, a tasting menu offers the best of both culinary worlds.

Can’t get enough Mexican food? Neither can we. Take a Taco Tuesday Downtown Scooter ride to score as many tacos as possible.

phone: (702) 331-1160
hours: 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday
10 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday

Las Vegas has more taco shops per capita than any other city in the country. While these street tacos, by way of Tijuana, can be had at any time of day, there is something extra special about them late at night. When the city is lit by neon signs, after an evening of partying, nothing hits the spot like quite like these tacos.

There are three lines for guests to choose their assorted items – one line for beef (carne asada), one line for pork (adobada) cut straight from the spit and one line for offal (tripe, brain, etc.) Tacos are a must, but dishes including sopes, vampiros and loaded fries are just as good. Get a group and sample it all.

6. El Segundo Sol at Fashion Show Mall

11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday

We can all agree that guacamole is best when it’s made to order. When the avocados are mashed and seasoned right at the table, it guarantees a taste and freshness that can’t be beaten. El Segundo Sol does just that, along with amazing tacos and “loco hour” with one of the cheapest happy hours on the Strip
