Guests at the Golden Gate experience a side of Las Vegas that is rarely seen … its’ past. It is one of the first hotel casinos to appear in the city and is the longest-running, fully operational hotel in the city. Erected in 1906, this property has seen many significant changes, including adding the Fremont Street Experience just outside its’ doors.

The hotel features ten guest rooms called the “Original 10.” While these rooms have been updated to include modern amenities, they have existed since the hotel first opened. They have seen everyone from tired ranchers to shady mob-men to celebrities spanning the decades. The history of the hotel and these rooms is never disputed and is a unique addition to your Vegas vacation.

Standard smoking and non-smoking guest rooms are available with one queen or two double beds. Suites are more spacious with a California King bed and a plush sectional that provides an additional queen-sized pullout if needed. All guest rooms offer in-room amenities such as an iHome clock/radio, in-room safe, and convenient computer ports. All guests are offered Bath and Body Works personal products.

For more space and much more luxury, the two-bedroom penthouse provides the option for entertaining. Three 50” TVs are located in the living area, with another on the outdoor patio. The balcony also features a built-in fireplace, gas grill, and comfortable seating.

While there is no swimming pool available to guests on-site, you are welcome to enjoy the pool at the nearby sister property, the D Hotel & Casino. Guests also receive two passes to the adults-only Stadium Swim located next door at the Circa.

The hotel is also nearby the I-15 and US-95 freeways for quick travel to the rest of the city if needed. Golden Gate is partnered with Enterprise Car Rental, available at the front desk, and a third-party shuttle service for airport transportation.

For an affordable stay in Vegas, the Golden Gate offers some of the lowest rates in town. This makes it ideal for families on a budget or those with extended stays.

Swimming Pools at the Golden Gate

  • Golden Gate guests have access to the private swimming pool at The D and receive passes to Circa’s Stadium Swim.
Guests at the Golden Gate are welcome to the swimming pool at the nearby sister property, the D Hotel & Casino. This pool area offers plenty of loungers for those enjoying a splash and some sun, plus a separate hot tub. The D’s pool is not large but is a quiet oasis compared to many other downtown and Strip hotels with massive pool complexes and services. If you are looking for that experience, you can try out the adults-only Stadium Swim at the Circa. Golden Gate guests are provided two free passes to Stadium Swim, where you can enjoy year-round entertainment. The complex includes six temperature-controlled pools and hundreds of lounges spread over three tiers, all in front of a 143-foot HD screen that showcases the most popular sporting events of the day and all-important statistics. Those looking for an even more exciting experience at Stadium Swim can upgrade to a canopy daybed, private cabana, or water couch. Swim-up and walk-up bars are never far away, but you’ll also have a dedicated staff ensuring you have the most luxurious pool experience in Las Vegas, even from your reserved seating. While the Golden Gate does not have a swimming pool of its’ own, it rarely seems to be a problem with plenty of options for those looking for a splash.

Balcony Options at the Golden Gate

  • The Golden Gate offers private balconies with their two-bedroom penthouse suite, complete with seating, 50” TV, and a state-of-the-art gas grill for entertaining.
Whether you use the outdoor patio space to enjoy the warmer weather of Las Vegas from the comfort of your suite or plan on entertaining guests during your stay, the penthouse suite offers everything you need. The indoor living areas' spacious layout and luxurious decor spill out onto the balcony for an even more upscale Las Vegas experience. These roomy patios include plenty of lounge seating with convenient side tables to hold your beverage or meal. Enjoy the game on your 50” large-screen television, ideal for major sporting events. You can even prepare an excellent summer BBQ feast on the state-of-the-art gas grill. Feed a few or feed many, this is a balcony ready to party. Every private patio also includes a full wet bar designed to mix a few drinks or even serve up a party menu. You’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine for the most natural selfie lighting in the suite. Look beyond the glass railing for gorgeous views of downtown Las Vegas and the Fremont Street Experience, or keep it cozy by gathering around the built-in fireplace. These private patios are unique in that they don’t only offer fantastic views. They are a functional space for guests to use as they wish, whether to relax with friends, invite a few people for a party, or entertain business associates.

Golden Gate is a cheap Hotel

  • The Golden Gate offers a rich history and a convenient location at one end of the Fremont Street Experience with affordable room rates.

With a convenient location at one end of the Fremont Street Experience, you are ideally situated to enjoy downtown Las Vegas just steps away from the front door. Those planning on visiting the Strip will need to travel a few minutes by bus, rideshare, or personal transportation, but resorts located on the North Strip, like the STRAT and Sahara Las Vegas, are not too far off.

The Golden Gate also offers some of the most affordable rates in Las Vegas, especially downtown or near the Strip. Both smoking and non-smoking rooms are available, as well as the larger Golden Gate Suite and the two-bedroom penthouse. The “Original 10” guest rooms date back to the original hotel opened in 1906, steeped in history.

While there is private parking on-site, other amenities such as the swimming pool, fitness center, and concierge are located at the nearby sister property, the D Hotel & Casino. Each guest room booked at the Golden Gate will receive two tickets to visit Stadium Swim, the adults-only outdoor pool entertainment complex, at another nearby sister property, the Circa.

Because of its age, guest rooms at the hotel may feel dated, especially in comparison to other nearby accommodations. However, the much more affordable room rates make the Golden Gate a popular spot for those visiting Las Vegas.

Golden Gate is a Family-Friendly Hotel

  • With its proximity to the Fremont Street Experience and the many fun activities in downtown Las Vegas, the Golden Gate is a popular accommodation choice for families.

Families are welcome at the Golden Gate as an affordable accommodation perfect for those on a budget but who still want to be nearby all the fun, family-friendly attractions of downtown Las Vegas. The Fremont Street Experience is just outside the casino lobby, so you aren’t far from the hub of activity that is downtown Las Vegas.

Fremont Street Experience offers an hourly Viva Vision light show on the largest screen in the world, located 90-feet above Fremont Street and extending over 1,300-feet in length. Live music and the SlotZilla zip line activity are great for older children.

This outdoor venue is the perfect way to explore historic downtown Las Vegas, especially if you stay at the oldest hotel still in operation, the Golden Gate. Families will enjoy learning about the hotel’s rich history, clearly on display throughout the casino and lobby, and in the “Original 10” guest rooms that date back to the Golden Gate’s opening in 1906.

Non-smoking rooms are available, as well as the larger Golden Gate Suite or two-bedroom penthouse suite for families needing more space. While there is no pool on-site, families staying at the Golden Gate have access to the swimming pool located at their sister property, the D Hotel & Casino.

Golden Gate is on the North of the Strip

  • The Golden Gate is located in historic downtown Las Vegas, nearby restaurants, entertainment, and attractions. However, the North Strip is never too far away.

The Golden Gate is located at Fremont Street and Main Street, at one end of the famous Fremont Street Experience. Enjoy the hourly light show, Viva Vision, on the world’s largest screen domed overhead while experiencing live music, street performers, and attractions like the SlotZilla zip line.

Also located in downtown Las Vegas are the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum, both showcasing various elements of the city’s storied past. The museums are a hit with history buffs and anyone interested in Vegas history. The Neonopolis shopping center offers restaurants, entertainment, and attractions at the opposite end of the Fremont Street Experience.

If you plan on visiting Las Vegas Boulevard, you are located just a few minutes’ drive away from the North Strip and popular resorts like the STRAT and Circus Circus. To explore much more of the Strip much more easily, head to the Las Vegas Monorail station located at the Sahara. Ride the monorail to six other convenient stops along the Strip. Multi-day passes are available for those staying in town for a while.

With easy access to the I-15 and US-95 freeways, guests can easily travel the city. However, everything you need is just a stone’s throw away in downtown Vegas or the nearby Strip.

Golden Gate is a Hotel with Rooms

  • The Golden Gate’s “Original 10” guest rooms were part of the hotel’s opening in 1906. Guests can stay in the same rooms as ranchers, mobsters, and celebrities of bygone eras.

The Golden Gate has guestrooms with either one queen or two double beds. These rooms are designed to make the most of their 250 square feet to allow guests to unwind and refresh for another day or night on the Fremont Street Experience just outside the doors or the nearby Las Vegas Strip.

Rooms are designed with modern decor that still echoes back to the traditional hotel rooms of the past. The “Original 10” rooms are the only hotel rooms that still exist from the Golden Gate’s opening in 1906 and have seen such guests as ranchers, mobsters, celebrities, and honeymooners.

All beds feature top-of-the-line Serta mattresses topped with comfortable linens and ample pillows for a restful sleep. If you are visiting Vegas to experience the lights and glamour, choose a room with a view of the Fremont Street Experience. For a quieter stay, choose a city view.

All guest rooms are equipped with in-room safes, convenient computer ports, and iHome clock/radios that allow you to sync your favorite Apple device. You’ll find complimentary Bath and Body Works personal products stocked in each bathroom to pamper with during your stay.

Both smoking and non-smoking guest rooms are available for your convenience. All “Original 10” rooms are non-smoking.

Golden Gate is a Hotel with Smoking Rooms

  • The Golden Gate is convenient for smokers, with room options to include either one queen or two double beds.

The Golden Gate offers smoking and non-smoking guest rooms. Golden Gate Suites and two-bedroom penthouse suites do not allow smoking indoors, but you may smoke on the private patio off the penthouse living space with the door to the suite closed. The “Original 10” guest rooms are all non-smoking due to their historical relevance to the hotel.

Smoking rooms at the Golden Gate feature an updated contemporary decor with the occasional throwback to its history through light fixtures, wallpaper, and various textured surfaces. When artwork is present, it gives guests a glimpse into the city’s past and the hotel’s history.

Depending on your needs, you may book a room with one queen bed or two double beds. They are equipped with all the modern conveniences and amenities you will need, including a flat-screen TV, in-room safe, computer ports, and an iHome clock/radio. Bathrooms feature either a walk-in shower or a shower/tub combo and are stocked with Bath and Body Works personal products.

Your smoking room will have ashtrays, which will be emptied with housekeeping. If you need additional ashtrays, you may request them with housekeeping or the front desk. Guests are asked to be mindful of ashes and smoke indoors safely. There are plenty of additional smoking areas throughout the hotel and casino. Feel free to ask an employee to direct you to the closest one if you are unsure.

The decor of these suites is bright with bold colors in a contemporary style that is as classic as it is modern. Artwork honoring Vegas’ past gives you a glimpse into what the city was like in another era when the hotel was one of only a few in operation.

With a more spacious, open layout, you can spread out to refresh and rest with more in-room amenities than standard guest rooms. Suites include a 50” HD television, Keurig coffeemakers, and climate control. The suite is also equipped with motion sensors.
