Swimming Pools at the Rio Las Vegas

At the VooDoo Beach complex, you’ll find the VooDoo Beach Pool, which is as close to a beach as you’ll come in Las Vegas outside of the Mandalay Bay Beach located on the Strip. Continue past the beach pool, and you’ll find a group of Jacuzzi spas ideal for relaxation no matter the time of day.  The Fish Pool and the Shell Pool are both unique in size, depth, design, and the type of swimming you’d like to do there. Relax, play, jump, splash, or whatever you’d like, just so long as you follow posted rules. Families may find the Fish Pool the most fun spot of the whole VooDoo complex, especially with the snack bar nearby.  If you’ve forgotten some sunscreen or want a souvenir towel or T-shirt, the Cabana Del Sol Retail Shop has you covered. They sell a variety of poll-related accessories and apparel. You can also rent one canopy daybeds or private cabanas from the shop or the service and information center nearest the snack bar.  Adults can head to the VooDoo Beach Bar beside the snack bar for a beverage, or, if they’d like, check out the Voo Pool & Ultra Lounge. Here, you’ll have a swim-up bar and a more relaxed, adults-only vibe.

Balcony Options at the Rio Las Vegas

The Rio offers floor-to-ceiling windows for stunning, unobstructed views of the city, whether you are facing the Las Vegas Strip, the surrounding mountains, or even the Rio Pool. This means that most accommodations here don’t offer balconies. However, with beautiful, spacious suites, that hardly seems to be a problem.  There is one way to enjoy a balcony at the Rio, and that’s in their Palazzo Villa luxury suite. These suites are available with one, two, three, or six bedrooms, and each bedroom features a balcony with an outdoor whirlpool spa and a gorgeous view of the private gardens. These balconies provide access to fresh air, day or night, and beautiful views of the palm trees, pool, and waterfall of their garden, as well as the Rio tower beyond them.  Each Palazzo Villa has access to its private garden. These gardens provide an intimate experience for guests whether you are enjoying your honeymoon in a one-bedroom Palazzo Villa, are a celebrity traveling with a few guests in a larger one, or have booked the six-bedroom Villa to vacation in style and luxury with up to 12 of your family and friends.  In addition to private balconies, Palazzo Villa guests enjoy other amenities such as private baths, fine Neoclassical-inspired decor, 24-hour butler service, and complimentary limo service to and from the airport.

Rio Las Vegas is a cheap Hotel

The Rio is an excellent option for those looking for a more affordable stay near the Las Vegas Strip. While it is not located on Las Vegas Boulevard, it is very close. Head east on Flamingo Road for two blocks, just past the I-15, and you’ll run into the Strip and the intersection with the Flamingo Las Vegas, Caesars Palace, and the Paris Las Vegas with Bally’s right next to it.

Their rooms are much larger than standard rooms at most other resorts and include a sitting area, making them “mini-suites.” Even their suites are larger than comparable options with spa tubs, a long list of in-room amenities, and great views. You could expect to pay more at other resorts, especially those closer to or on the Strip.

On-site, you still have many things close by that continue to make Rio a great value. Guests have access to a fitness center and the pool, a salon, and a business center. There is an expansive casino, several bars, a few restaurants, a pool bar, and several popular shows.

However, the Rio is an older hotel, so the rooms may be dated or feel aged. While still comfortable, most rooms haven’t been renovated. Also, because there are well over 2,500 rooms at the Rio, you may see longer lines at check-in and restaurants while guests get settled or during rush mealtimes.

Rio Las Vegas is in the Middle of the Strip

The Rio is located on Flamingo Road, just west of Las Vegas Boulevard. Head east on Flamingo two blocks and you are right in the middle of the Strip surrounded by some of the most popular resorts, shows, restaurants, and shopping.

Caesars Palace is the closest Strip resort. Explore the Forum Shops there, uniquely decorated in Greek statues and fountains, or check out one of their many bars and restaurants. They are famous for headlining shows like Rod Stewart and Sting.

Across from Caesars Palace is the Linq Promenade, full of shopping and restaurants and home to the High Roller observation deck. Ride in an air-conditioned pod for 30 minutes as you view the Las Vegas Strip and the entire valley with surrounding mountains.

The Fountains at Bellagio is also nearby this intersection. This is a free show in front of the resort, featuring towering fountains of water and bright lights, all beautifully choreographed to music. The best view of the show is from the Eiffel Tower viewing deck at the Paris Las Vegas just across the street.

While you’re at the Paris, explore their French-inspired restaurants and bars, or head to Bally’s just next door to shop at the Grand Bazaar Shops. You can also catch the Las Vegas Monorail at the Bally’s Paris station and explore the rest of the Strip with six other conveniently located stations.
