Explore Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort Las Vegas

Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort has imported Italian grandeur to Sin City.

The villas in the town of Bellagio, Italy lie between mountains, surrounded by Lake Como—a popular vacation destination for aristocrats and celebrities. Taking inspiration from the town, the resort lies behind a massive artificial lake that’s framed by olive and Italian cypress trees.

Just like the Italian destination, the Bellagio Hotel Vegas resort is home to intricate architecture and extravagant displays of wealth. Bellagio Hotel and Casino seeks to recreate the elegance of European aristocracy and offer guests the chance to live like royalty.

History and First Impressions of the Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort

At the time of building, it was the most expensive resort ever built. Since its opening in 1998, Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas has maintained the timeless elegance that draws millions of visitors per year.

When approaching Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort, you’ll have one of two reactions. You may say “wow” as you take in the lake, the symmetry of the architecture and the carefully-selected Italian foliage. If you don’t say anything, then you might be speechless. Every aspect of its design suggests that Bellagio is an authentic lakefront villa that was plucked, along with its grounds, from northern Italy and placed on the Las Vegas Strip.

The feeling of awe is renewed when you enter the lobby of Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort. It’s one of the most aesthetically pleasing, Instagram-famous spots in Las Vegas, and for a good reason. The lobby is outfitted with thousands of blown glass flowers in a rainbow of colors—a work of art called Fiori di Como by Dale Chihuly—that beautifully contrast the gold-and-beige color scheme of the space. On one side, live trees act as a backdrop to the expansive front desk. On the other side, the casino floor is partially hidden behind the Hermès store and the Petrossian Bar. Continuing through the lobby, you’ll arrive at Bellagio’s famous conservatory—which has earned its own section below.

As one would expect from Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort, the hotel rooms and suites are immaculate. What may surprise guests is how comfortable they are—not just in terms of luxury, but in the way that they allow you to feel at home even in a hotel on the Strip. The decor features elements of nature, whether with blue fabric accents and pictures of dewdrops or orange abstract patterns and sunset-colored flowers.

After undergoing recent remodels, the hotel at Bellagio artfully toes the line between modern and timeless. The resort has maintained the feeling of Old World luxury even after outfitting the rooms with technology like iHome docking systems, high-speed Wi-Fi and automatic drapery. Dog-friendly rooms are available for an added fee, as are Doggie Butler Services which include check-ins, dog walking and a treats-and-toys box.

The smallest of the seven types of rooms at Bellagio Hotel Vegas is the Resort King at 510 square feet, which is an affordable stay for an off-season, mid-week night. The most expensive room, the 626 square-foot Fountain View King, is on the higher price end for the same night.

This suite is laid out like a funky studio apartment, with a living room-like area and upgraded bathroom—including a whirlpool tub, two showers and two sinks. It’s the Presidential Suite, a 4,000+ square feet multi-room space at the top of Bellagio’s spa tower. Overlooking the city and the Fountains of Bellagio, the suite features every amenity you could want. With a private entrance, 24/7 butler service, and the option to book Entourage Suites for your staff, the Presidential Suite embodies the brand of luxury that’s generally reserved for exclusive guests and titans of industry. Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort is home to “O”, one of Cirque du Soleil’s best shows. The Canadian entertainment company is famous for surrealist displays of art in motion, with gymnasts and other performers working together to create a striking visual experience. “O” is so-named because it sounds like the French “eau,” which translates to “water.” The aquatic show features synchronized swimmers, acrobats, and divers who weave a tale of love and adventure in a gripping dreamscape. You won’t be able to see “O” anywhere else, as the show only runs at Bellagio Hotel Vegas’s opera house-inspired theater.

Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art boasts that it’s “where great art goes on vacation.” This exhibition space of Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort hosts fine art from collections around the world. Previous exhibits include the works of Faberge, Warhol and Picasso.

The current exhibition, running between February 23 and September 10, entitled “In Bloom”, uncovers a fresh introduction to Spring, offering explorations of rebirth, identity, abstraction, humanity, and forces that move us to collective change. Casino

chips on a table at Bellagio

Considering the glamour of Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort, the casino fulfills all gambling needs. This is typical for many luxury resorts on the Strip, which prioritize amenities and high-limit table games over variety and creativity on the casino floor. There are about 2,300 slot machines, most of which are themed video machines. The casino at Bellagio Hotel Vegas hosts eight table games across 100+ tables. Bets can range from $15 to $20,000 per play, which can mean that you can go through chips pretty quickly when you’re playing at Bellagio.

The high-limit lounge at Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort hosts the kind of games that most gamblers will never see outside of a Bond movie. The rooms are outfitted like European aristocratic lounges, with stiff furniture and intricate chandeliers. These are the games that staff watch like hawks, noting the highest bets and who’s making them to decide which players they need to impress. If you’re one of these players, the casino works for you.

Bellagio opens a secret door for their big spenders, dispensing gifts to encourage more hefty bets and anticipating their needs to keep them on the casino floor. There could literally be a million dollars on the table—in the form of chips—in the high-limit room. You may or not be able to spend time in the high-limit lounge, but it’s thrilling to know that it’s there.

Bars and Nightlife

At Bellagio Hotel Vegas, you won’t find the kind of wild, raucous nightclubs that exist elsewhere on the Strip. If you’re hoping to dance to EDM, head to one of the neighboring casinos. Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort is home to elegant bars better suited for craft cocktails and conversation.

Enjoy Renovated Rooms and New Ways To Earn at Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort

Use a players card at a high-class hotel like the Bellagio Hotel Vegas and you can earn free rooms, comped food and drink and more. MGM Rewards officially launched on February 1, 2022, replacing M life Rewards. The new loyalty program offers more ways to earn and redeem, as well as added perks for low to mid-tier status members. The challenge is that tier status is more difficult to reach under the new MGM Rewards loyalty program.

How To Earn MGM Rewards at Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas

The program offers several types of rewards. Tier Credit establishes your player status at the resort. Statuses are Sapphire, Pearl, Gold, Platinum and Noir. Rewards Points work like cash at hotels, restaurants, spas, and Vegas shows like the popular “O” by Cirque du Soleil. Additionally, you may get a free room at Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort or another offer by mail or email. Accepting it has no impact on your Rewards Points.

Earn on Non-Gaming Activities

Under Mlife, $1 bought 25 Tier Credits. Now, you earn 4 Tier Credits for every $1 you spend on non-gaming activities. That means you would have to spend more than $18,000 to achieve gold status. Unlike before, however, you’ll enjoy no resort fees for your stay at the Bellagio Hotel Vegas at gold and above.

Earn for Hotel Stay and Dining

Once you check-in at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort, there is no need to leave the resort until check-out. It’s both upscale and laid-back with great restaurants and entertainment options, completely self-contained. Start earning Tier Credits and Rewards Points when you book a room or a suite, many with views of the Fountains of Bellagio. Continue to rack up the rewards over meals at restaurants like Lago, Le Cirque or Sadelle’s Cafe.

Relax and Earn

Take a dip in one of Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort’s five Mediterranean-style pools. Soak in some sun and collect Tier Credits and Rewards points while blissfully enjoying a poolside massage. Want to completely unwind? The Bellagio Spa and Salon offers top-quality massages, body treatments, and facials. Pamper yourself at the salon with a mani-pedi, haircut, or even eyelash extensions. Or, for your significant other the salon features a Barber Room with straight razor shaves.

Continue earning rewards with a culturally stimulating trip to the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. Stroll through the world-famous Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden. A team of 120 horticultural experts maintains this breathtaking gem. There are 5,700 plants on display for the Lunar New Year at the time of this writing. Of course, the famous Fountains of Bellagio can never be missed.

Accumulate Points in the Casino

Play slots and video poker to earn Tier Credits, MGM Rewards Points and Slot Dollars, which can be exchanged for Freeplay. Now, earn Tier Credits and MGM Rewards Points on table games at the Bellagio Hotel Vegas’s 100,000 square foot casino. Rewards will be calculated based on game type, average bet and length of play.

Are sports your thing? Collect Tier Credits when you place a wager at the sportsbook at the Bellagio or on the BetMGM app. Players at the Bellagio Poker Room earn $2 in comps per hour at the table.

How Rewards are Calculated

In the long run, the house keeps a piece of every dollar a gambler puts at risk in a casino. That’s why employees at Las Vegas casinos are happy to offer rewards to loyal gamblers. Comps are based on the average dollar amount a player is expected to lose each day, known as average daily theoretical, or ADT. It’s unrelated to how much you actually win or lose.

To calculate your ADT at a table game, the pit boss observes your play. ADT is determined by the type of game you’re playing, your average bet, and how long you stay at the table. In the end, the casino comes up with a dollar figure representing how much it expects to win from you each day, and comps you around 20% to 30% of that amount.

Comps and Promotions

How to get More Comps

Playing slots or video poker at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort is the fastest way to earn MGM Rewards Points. You can’t get points without a Player’s Card, but there are still times it’s best not to use one—primarily, when you don’t plan to gamble long or invest much money. There’s a very real reason why. If you were to put $500 into play over five hours on a Saturday, then blow off $50 before your flight on Sunday, you’ll ruin your good rating. In situations like that, you should go ahead and play on Sunday—just don’t use your players card.

It may not be what you had planned, but you’ll earn the most comps by depleting your entire gambling budget in one day at the same casino. Gambling $600 during the same day will earn you a much higher rating and more free offers than betting $200 in chips each day for three days.

Back-End Comps

Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort guests who gamble a lot can request comps, and sometimes they will be granted. Charge everything to your room and before checkout, go to the rewards desk and ask to speak to a casino host. Ask them to review your play and see if they can remove any of your charges.

Always Take Advantage of Promotions

Whenever possible, it’s always a wise bet to get your gambling in during promotions. For example, between February 1st and April 30, 2022, the MGM Rewards 2x multiplier promotion helped betters earn 2x Tier Credits.

Use a Casino Host

Think of your casino host as you would a concierge at a hotel. A host will remember the things that you like and get you the best comps to suit those likes. Big betters are often pursued by casino hosts. If that hasn’t happened, a guest can ask the rewards desk to check his play to see if he qualifies for one.

Line of Credit

Most large casinos, including the one at Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort, allow players to apply for a line of credit. This gives a player the freedom to gamble without carrying cash or being burdened by the constraints of daily ATM limits and fees. The minimum amount that can be requested is $2500. The application is on the resort’s website. If approved, the casino gives you a marker that can be traded to the dealer for chips. Typically, a player has 30 days to pay off a marker, although casinos prefer you settle up before check-out.

How to Spend my Rewards Credits

Redeem MGM Rewards Points for hotel stays at the Bellagio Hotel Vegas, food, beverages, entertainment, spa treatments and more in any of over 20 MGM Resorts destinations in the United States. Also redeem points for experiences such as choosing the song that accompanies Bellagio’s Dancing Fountains or a private mixology lesson. You can redeem your Slot Dollars for free play.

Games at the Casino in Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort

Video Poker

Video Poker offers some of the best odds in the casino, and is a popular way to earn comps. To play, start with five cards on a video screen and choose which to keep or redraw. Press the hold button under each card you wish to keep, spin the reels and see your new poker hand. There are mathematically correct cards to hold on every hand.

Tip: Study strategy charts to learn how to always make the right move. Strategy charts are available online and in casino gift shops. You’re permitted to consult them while you play.

Blackjack

The Bellagio has three blackjack tables which use two decks and pay 3:2. The limits are $100 to $10,000, the dealer stands on soft 17 and double after split is allowed.

Six deck shoe games are in abundance with over ten open for business on the casino floor. Six of them pay 6:5, with bets from $25 to $10,000. Conditions include double after split, resplit aces, late surrender. and dealer stands on soft 17.

Four additional six deck tables pay 3:2. The limits are $50 to $10,000, dealer hits on soft 17 and late surrender is permitted. It’s ok to double after split and resplit aces.

There’s a right way to play every hand in blackjack. You’re up against the dealer and whoever can come the closest to 21 without busting wins. Basic strategy lowers the casino’s edge to 0.5% when followed perfectly. One basic strategy rule that may surprise you is standing on a 12. When you have a 12 and the dealer’s up card is 4 – 6, the correct move is to stand. Also, stand when you have 13 and the dealer is showing 2 – 6. Basic strategy charts are available online and at casino gift shops, and it’s okay to use them at the table as long as you don’t slow down the game.

Card counters make money when there are more high cards like 10 – ace left in the deck than low ones, like 2 – 6. When the count turns positive, a counter starts to raise his bets, and may play multiple hands at one time. When it turns negative, a counter will bet minimum or leave the table.

Slots

View of the Bellagio Casino floor in Las Vegas with lavish decor and gaming tables
via Shutterstock

Twenty-four hundred one-arm-bandits line the casino floor at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort. Among the most popular is the Megabucks with a jackpot that starts at $10 million and grows until someone claims the winning ticket. Nevada’s Megabucks Progressive Slot Machines are in the Bellagio Hotel Vegas and more than 125 casinos across the state. Before you set your sights on the jackpot, be aware that the payout percentage is much lower on progressive machines, so you will get fewer small payouts and lose more often. However, it only takes one spin on a progressive machine to win life-changing money.

Roulette

A standard roulette wheel has 38 slots and it’s up to the players to bet on which slot the ball will land in. The slots are numbered one to 36, zero and double zero. Gamblers can also wager on odd/even, red/black and more. The dealer spins the wheel releasing a ball, and then it’s time to place your bets. Place a $10 chip on a single lucky number and it’s called a straight bet. Get your $10 back plus an additional $350 if you win. It’s a long shot, but at 35:1, it has the highest payout ratio at the table.

The Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort features a European, or single zero roulette wheel. The majority of casinos offer only double and triple-zero wheels. A single zero wheel offers the player better odds because there are fewer slots for the ball to land in. The house edge at a single zero table is 2.7%, as opposed to a 5.26% house edge at a double zero game.

Craps

The craps table is the friendliest place in the casino. Around 90% of players bet the Pass Line, or with the shooter. When they roll a winning number, everyone wins.

The players take turns playing the role of the shooter, and the first roll of your turn is called the come-out roll. Shooting a seven or 11 is called a natural and win. But rolling two, three and 12 are losing rolls. Hit a four, five, six, eight, nine or 10 and that becomes the come-out point. To win, roll that number again before rolling a seven. Roll a seven first, lose the hand and your turn is over.

Poker Room

The Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort’s Poker Room is home to the annual World Poker Tournament Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Forty poker tables and two high-limit rooms fill this 7,000-square-foot smoke-free space. The high-limit Legends Room is a two-table enclave named to honor poker’s greatest players.

Following are the games and stakes available at the Bellagio Hotel Vegas Poker Room:

  • No Limit Hold’em – 1-3, 2-5, 5-10, 10-20 and higher
  • Limit Hold’em – 4-8, 9-18, 20-40, 40-80, 80-160 and higher
  • Pot Limit Omaha – 1-3, 2-5, 5-10, 10-20 and higher
  • 7 Card Stud – 20-40, 40-80 and higher
  • Mixed Games – 4-8, 30-60, 40-80 and higher

Baccarat

The first thing you do in baccarat is guess who will win the hand, before the cards have even been dealt. Put your chips out for the player, the banker, or a tie. Next, the player and the banker are each dealt two cards face up. The best hand in the game of baccarat is a nine. If the player or banker draws an eight or nine, they win. If the totals are both nine or eight, it’s a tie. Draw any other number and the dealer consults the rule book. A bet on the banker gives the best odds in the game.

Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow poker image
via Adobe Stock

Another game you can try at Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort, Pai Gow Poker, is a lot like traditional poker, but the ways in which the games are different are unusual. First, a five-high straight beats a king high straight in Pai Gow. A wheel, or Ace – 5, is the second highest straight in Pai Gow, only behind 10 – ace. In Hold’em a wheel is the lowest straight.

Pai Gow Poker has also removed the royal flush from the top spot among poker rankings and replaced it with Five of a Kind. A Pai Gow Poker deck includes a joker that can be used to complete a straight or a flush. It can also be used as an ace to make five of a kind.

The Pai Gow Poker player has to make a two card hand and a five card hand. The five card hand has to out-rank the two card hand which can only consist of high cards or a pair. Make two hands that beat both of the dealer’s hands to win.

Pai Gow

This game is played with dominoes instead of cards and it’s one of the most difficult games on the casino floor. To put it simply, four dominoes are dealt to each player, the dealer and each empty seat at the table. The players have to make two poker hands: a high hand and a second-high hand. Win by beating both the dealer’s high and low hands.

Let it Ride Poker

Let it Ride is a unique poker variant available at Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort. You can pull back one of your bets after you’ve seen your hand, and pull back a second bet after the first community card is revealed. The other player’s cards are irrelevant, and so is the dealer’s hand. A win is based on a player’s ability to draw to a pair of 10’s or better.

After you look at your cards, tuck them under your first bet, if you like your hand, and Let it Ride. Otherwise, scratch them on the table to signal the dealer that you want to pull back your first bet. Two community cards that can be used by any player to improve the strength of his hand are face down on the felt. The first one is unveiled and the player chooses to let it ride or pull back his second bet, but the third bet remains on the table. After the dealer turns over the second community card, he reveals the player’s cards and identifies the winners.

Three Card Poker

aerial view of Bellagio poker table

Win by making a higher three-card poker hand than the dealer. The rankings are nearly identical to those used in traditional poker. The differences are that in Three Card Poker, three of a kind beats a straight and a straight beats a flush. Straights and flushes in this game only require three cards to complete.

The game starts when a gambler bets the ante and, in some cases, makes the Pair Plus side bet. He’s dealt three cards, and so is the dealer. After seeing his hand, he can raise or fold. If the player raises, the dealer turns over his cards. The dealer needs queen high to continue If he doesn’t qualify, only the ante pays. If the dealer qualifies, the higher poker hand wins. The ante and the raise pay even money. A strategy tip: Don’t fold too many hands. Raise if you’re dealt a Q-6-4 or better.

Pair Plus is an optional side bet on a player to draw a pair or better. The house advantage on this bet is 7.29%. Payouts start at even money for a pair and top off at 40:1 for a straight flush. A Six Card Bonus is a side bet that looks for the best five-card hand you can make using all your cards and the dealer’s cards. It takes three of a kind or higher to win.

Sportsbook

BetMGM sportsbook at the Bellagio

The Bellagio Hotel & Casino Resort has one of the highest sports betting limits on the Strip. The 5,600 square-foot BetMGM Sportsbook at Bellagio is elegant with a sense of intimacy. Place your bets and watch the show on more than 50 large screens and 99 individual racing monitors. Relax over a drink in the lounge, then go next door to Snacks for a sandwich. You can also choose to order food from any restaurant at the resort. You could almost say that taking a trip to this charming, smoke-free sportsbook is time well spent regardless of your wager’s outcome.

Club Privé – High Limit Lounge

Serious gamblers are treated to the old-world luxury of Club Privé, the 24-hour high-limit lounge at the Bellagio Hotel Vegas casino. The room is detailed with Art Deco accents and a speakeasy-style bar serves players in the lounge.
