Vegas offers locals and visitors alike a variety of thrilling attractions including zip lining experiences. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, adventurers can explore everything from zip lining at 33 miles per hour at the Rio to taking a leap of faith with a controlled bungee jump off of the 108th floor at The Strat. When searching for the ultimate adrenaline high, here are five spots for zip lining on the Strip to get a thrill-seeker’s blood pumping.
1. VooDoo Zip Line at the Rio
Imagine the cool wind combing through your hair as you soar across the sky between the Rio’s two hotel towers. If this sounds like the perfect way to satisfy your cravings for a wild ride in Vegas, then the VooDoo Zip Line should be at the top of your Sin City bucket list. The VooDoo Zip Line at the Rio runs 500 feet high at 33 miles per hour.
The design of the ride can accommodate up to two people at a time and is similar to a ski lift. Two adrenaline junkies can fly through the open-air attraction together while experiencing an extraordinary 360 degree view of the Las Vegas Strip. The ride is about a third of a mile long. This motorized zipline travels both forward and backward. Be sure not to blink on this ride because it goes by fast clocking in at one minute and ten seconds.
General Admission is $34.
2. Fly LINQ Zipline at The LINQ
Dubbed as the only zip line located on the Strip, Fly LINQ Zipline launches riders from a 12-story tower that flies them 1,121 feet high above Las Vegas Boulevard down to the LINQ Promenade and ends at the High Roller attraction. At 35 miles an hour, this zip line magically soars guests across the desert skies seamlessly. See Vegas like you’ve never seen it before. For locals, students, seniors and military, the Fly LINQ Zipline offers special deals.
To commemorate the experience, guests can buy a souvenir at the Sky Shop to celebrate their experience. Additionally, for those who want to fly at the LINQ with friends, they offer a ride with friends option where guests can book up to 10 people to soar alongside them on their electrifying ride.
Tickets start at $26.75.
3. SlotZilla Zipline at Fremont Street
While exploring Downtown Las Vegas, SlotZilla Zipline is a must for an offbeat thrillseeker. SlotZilla offers two different ziplining experiences: Zip-Zilla (Zipline) and Superhero Zoom (Zoomline). The Zip-Zilla experience takes guests seven stories high in a seated position flying them for two blocks over the lively downtown scene. The Superhero Zoom flies a bit higher at eleven stories above the ground while guests ride in a superhero pose, stretching their arms and feet straight out like Superman.
This ride is five blocks long and guests will fly like they are in a scene from a Hollywood movie (wearing a cool superhero costume while soaring across Vegas sounds like the ultimate Instagram shot, just saying).
In case you’re wondering, the attraction’s name was inspired by SlotZilla, the world’s largest multi-million dollar slot machine. The legendary slot machine featured iconic Vegas symbols such as oversized dice, a martini glass, pink flamingo, two showgirls and more.
Tickets for Zip-Zilla start at $39.
Tickets for Superhero Zoom start at $59.
4. Haley’s Comet at AREA 15
While technically off the Strip, AREA 15 is just a short Uber ride away from the Las Vegas Strip. AREA 15 offers a myriad of unique and unusual attractions, including an indoor hang-gliding, free-falling zipline, Haley’s Comet. One of the coolest features of this ride is that it runs on two parallel tracks which means two people can race each other while riding this zipline.
The site refers to this as “The Spine of AREA 15” and describes it to be “as safe as it is pulse-spiking.” Flying above the unique art installations and galactic decor in itself makes this zip line a one-of-a-kind feat. Ride restrictions note that riders must be a minimum of 54” tall with a maximum height of 77 inches. Be sure to check the rest of the ride requirements before taking a spin on Haley’s Comet.
Adult Tickets cost $18.
Kids Tickets cost $12.
Bonus: Catch Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart exhibition at ARE15.
SkyJump is like a vertical zipline, but it’s unlike any heart-pounding plunge on this list. In fact, the site states that this is the only one in North America and the highest jump in the world. Riders jump off the launching pad on the 108th floor at 855 feet above the Las Vegas Strip. This attraction gives guests a rare view of the Strip. Due to the nature of this extreme adventure, thorough safety precautions are taken which makes this ride experience about 35 to 45 minutes. Riders fall going at about 40 mph.
Many who have braved this controlled fall say that the hardest part is taking the jump. After getting geared up and all the safety checks are finalized, the rider must fall from the platform on their own. Some people get up there and change their minds.
For those that decide to not jump, they don’t get a refund, but they receive a “Chicken Out” voucher that they may give to a friend to redeem. The ride is inspected every day by ride engineers that are certified and riders wear a “jumpsuit” with shoes specially designed for the SkyJump.
To commemorate the experience, guests may buy packages that include photos and/or video of their experience at SkyJump.
Tickets start at $129.99
