The collaborative artists, known as Silk Sonic, release 'Leave the Door Open,' and it gives all the 1970s R&B vibes we need

Two artists who spend a lot of time in Las Vegas—one has a residency and one has been known to pop up at concerts and club performances—have joined forces. Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have formed a new band called Silk Sonic, and they just released the music video for their first single.

“Leave the Door Open” is a smooth R&B slow jam that highlights the duo’s unique vocal styling. It is a track straight out of the 1970s that turns the romanticism dial all the way up.

The song will appear on the band’s upcoming album, “An Evening With Silk Sonic,” which is expected to be released later in 2021.

They have shared few details about the project, but we know that funk musician Bootsy Collins will serve as a guest host. The intro track for the album is available for listening now.

Mars has not released a studio album since 2016’s “24K Magic,” so loyal fans are understandably excited. As for .Paak, he released several singles throughout 2020, while his last album, “Ventura,” dropped in 2019.

While we do not have a release date yet, it is not too early for music fans to get excited about this album.

Mars and .Paak are a match made in music heaven. They provide the smoothest listening vibes and love paying homage to the genres that came before them.

Something tells me Silk Sonic is going to be a frequent addition to my playlists.
