MLife Becomes MGM Rewards: What You Need To Know

If you’ve visited Bellagio, Aria, Luxor or any other MGM property, you’ve likely heard of M Life. M Life was the MGM loyalty program before their recent rebranding to MGM Rewards. MGM Rewards, like the M Life rewards program before it, allows those with an MGM Rewards account to turn everyday purchases into perks. Just by signing up for an MGM rewards mastercard and spending money, cardholders begin earning points toward elevated experiences and exclusive member benefits.

Let the magic of Bellagio, with its conservatory, fountains and splendor, make your Las Vegas Strip an unforgettable experience.

Since MGM announced that they were replacing their familiar rewards program, Vegas visitors and locals alike have had questions about what this means for their ability to earn rewards at MGM properties. The stakes are high, after all, since M Life rewards members were able to earn hotel stays, dining, slots, table games, and more. Learn what the move to MGM Rewards means for members below.

MLife is out, MGM Rewards is in

M Life was MGM’s member rewards program which was beloved by participants for one simple reason: you could earn tier credits easily. Tier credits are the points you need to move up the ranks as a member to earn more exclusive benefits. Each tier status has its own benefits, with their value and usability increasing as you move up. To put it plainly, those with first-tier status have access to the most basic perks, and those with fifth-tier status have access to the coolest perks.

With the change to MGM Rewards, it’s a little trickier for members to earn tier credits. This is because MGM Rewards is less rewarding than M Life was. Each dollar spent using the MGM Rewards Mastercard amounts to as little as one-fifth of what you would have earned under the M Life program.

That’s not to say that it’s not still a great rewards program–you can still earn plenty of tier credits and rewards points as a member of MGM Rewards. Check out our rundown of the benefits below.

What can I earn with MGM Rewards?

Tier status match programs

MGM allows members of other hotel loyalty programs to enjoy a matched tier at MGM properties. For example, World of Hyatt members enjoy exclusive benefits at MGM properties since their Hyatt loyalty program tier is honored at MGM resorts as well. This status match applies in reverse as well, with MGM Rewards members enjoying member benefits at participating Hyatt hotels.

How do I become an MGM Rewards member?

To become an MGM Rewards member, all you need to do is sign up for an MGM Rewards Mastercard. Apply for the loyalty credit card on the MGM Rewards Mastercard page.

Can I redeem MGM Rewards points to get member benefits in cities other than Las Vegas?

Yes! Since MGM has properties in several cities internationally, you can redeem your MGM rewards at any of MGM’s properties. All of them respect MGM rewards points and participate in the MGM rewards program to help you earn points.
