One of the most iconic structures in all of Las Vegas is the Strat Hotel Casino and SkyPod. Formerly named The Stratosphere, this funky structure was erected in 1992. In 2019, the tallest building in Las Vegas was rebranded, refurbished, and revitalized to become the Strat.

In the new renovation, rooms and suites were also updated. Some accommodations remain more basic, with warm colors featured in the decor. Other rooms have been modernized with cool features and color schemes.

The Strat is not only a hotel, but also an attraction. One of the best places to dine in all of Las Vegas is located near the top of its tower, at Top of the World restaurant. From your table, you will be able to look out over much of the Las Vegas Strip and beyond. The entire restaurant also rotates a full 360 degrees every 80 minutes, so you won’t miss a view.

Above that is the SkyPod Observation Deck, which has thrilling roller coasters and other adrenaline pumping attractions. Children and adults alike will love visiting this one-of-a-kind experience.

Of course, don’t forget the Strat casino, which has 750 machines and 44 tables. Between the casino, Top of the World, and SkyPod, you won’t want to leave the Strat.

Swimming Pools at the The STRAT Las Vegas

The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod is a sky-high stay on the Strip. Guests will be delighted to know that the towering amenities extend into the resort’s waterfronts, with two pool decks. A spread-out resort-style pool, three spas and a sea of cabanas await guests looking to relax at the Elation Pool. The pool’s café menu features both classic bar bites and signature frozen cocktails, complete with a souvenir cup to commemorate the days spent by the water in Vegas. Elation Pool is open seasonally, starting from April. For an adults-only experience—and to catch some pool time closer to the Sun—the RADIUSº Pool resides on the 25th floor of The STRAT. This pool is mostly exclusive to the 18 and older crowd, and any minors in tow must be accompanied by an adult. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the Strip from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the pool deck, with a drink from WET24 Pool Bar to quench the thirst brought on by a hot Vegas day. When you’re ready to see The STRAT from a whole new angle, the pools await. Pool access is complimentary to The STRAT guests. Non-guests can visit the pool deck for a small entrance fee. Go grab some breakfast on the Strip before you take a dip.

The STRAT Las Vegas is a Child-Friendly Hotel

Thinking about bringing your kids along on your trip to Las Vegas? The Strat just might be the best place to bring them. Not only is the building very cool, but there’s also extra fun to be had on the roof. One of those famous observation decks, on level 109 and 112, houses an exciting collection of thrill rides, 1,000 feet in the air above the Strip. Your kids will not believe seeing the spinning and twisting rides high above from the ground below. You can even ride the coasters into the night, for a thrilling experience you’ll never forget.

The STRAT Las Vegas is a cheap Hotel

Depending on which type of room or suite you choose, The STRAT is one of the best choices for a cost-effective trip to Las Vegas. Booking a room at The STRAT is perfect for snagging a budget-friendly room, or if you simply plan on spending your money on the casino floor or out on the Strip.

For accommodations starting at double-digit prices, The STRAT is the place to go. Choose between rooms featuring one king or two queen beds in a variety of room types. No extra purchases are necessary with the in-room amenities that ensure all basic needs are covered.

The rooms are not the only affordable aspect of The STRAT. Visit 108 Eats during their Sky-High happy hour for drink deals that won’t break the bank, as well as cheap eats from the 24-hour STRAT Café and other budget-friendly fast food establishments. There are also several restaurants on the strip nearby. With the observation deck ticket sitting at a wallet-friendly rate, as well as the comedy shows and other entertainment, dollars stretch farther with at stay at The STRAT. Plus, purchasing a party package at some of the best prices on the Strip will make you and your party VIP guests for the day—or night.

The STRAT Las Vegas is a Family-Friendly Hotel

The Strat is family friendly, too. Your kids aren’t the only ones who will love the thrills on the roof of the Strat. This area, made up of the topmost decks, is known as SkyPod. The SkyPod has thrill rides, a bar, a place to grab lunch, and the Top of the World restaurant for dinner.

There is even a Chapel in the Clouds for couples wishing to tie the knot with their closest family members by their side. Then, families can return to their comfortable suites and rooms before another day of fun.

Just remember, thrill rides come at an additional cost to your stay, they are not complementary to resort guests.

The STRAT Las Vegas is on the North of the Strip

The Strat is at the very north tip of the Las Vegas Strip, as you can see on our downloadable Vegas Strip map 2022. It is only a two mile ride from the Strat to Fremont Street, which is a part of downtown.

The Strat may be north of a lot of Las Vegas Strip attractions, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t accessible. To get to the Las Vegas monorail, you’ll only have to take a short walk under ten minutes. The monorail will take you south to all of the attractions on the Strip.

The closest Las Vegas Strip destinations to the Strat are Resorts World, Fashion Show Mall, and the Wynn and Encore properties. You’ll love exploring, and then retreating back to your cozy room high above it all at the Strat.

The STRAT Las Vegas is a Hotel with Rooms

As the Strat has four different kinds of suites to choose from, they also have four different kinds of rooms to choose from as well. Elevate rooms come with your choice of king or queen bed and accommodate two guests. This room is small, with only 340 square feet. There is a dedicated work area and separate bathroom, which makes the room feel like a small studio apartment.

An Elite room also comes with your choice of king or queen bed. With a warm, red color scheme, you’ll feel comfortable. While this room is the same size, there is a different layout that feels a little bigger.

The Select king and queen rooms are actually the smallest that the Strat has to offer. This makes it the perfect room for those who are visiting Las Vegas to be in the action, not just in their rooms.

The STRAT Las Vegas is a Hotel with Smoking Rooms

You may be looking for hotels on the Las Vegas Strip that allow smoking in their rooms. At the Strat, smoking cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and vapors are allowed in certain rooms. Marijuana usage, though legal in the state of Nevada, is not allowed in any of the Strat hotel rooms or suites, in the casino, or anywhere else on property.

You may also smoke in the casino as well, as you gamble and sip on a cocktail.

The STRAT Las Vegas has rooms with a view of the Strip

Some rooms and suites at the Strat have views of the Las Vegas Strip. Most notably, the Classic Grand Suite offers you amazing views of the vast Las Vegas valley. But, the Strat’s best views are not found from individual resort rooms.

The Strat has some of the best views of the city from two observation decks. These decks, on levels 109 and 108, are both indoor and outdoor. They are voted the best place to view the city every year. And, don’t forget about Top of the World, a restaurant that sits in its own observation deck, and is completely worth a visit.

The STRAT Las Vegas has Suites

The Strat has four different kinds of suites to choose from. The most standard suite, the Tower Suite, has one king bed and one queen sofa sleeper bed. This 574 square foot room has cool, modern furniture in both its bedroom area and separate sitting area. This room was designed for couples, with a luxurious Roman tub and double vanity.

The Classic Family Suite is a bit larger, with 610 square feet. As the Tower Suite was designed for couples, this one is designed for families. Picture your family here enjoying two queen beds and one queen sofa sleeper.

The Boulevard Suite is perfect for couples, families, or business workers that need a bit more space. The room is split with a column in the middle, making the bed area a little more private than the sitting area.

Finally, the Classic Grand Suite is the Strat’s most luxurious choice. The 1,097 square foot suite has one king bed and one queen pull-out couch. The bedroom is completely private from the living room and dining room, which includes a refrigerator and wet bar.
